Its a joke my friends made since its red and I occasionally wear ferrari tshirts and the nickname stuck. Everything on this car has been expensive to replace and I don't know if I can justify the cost at this point.

Those belts are not that expensive, and they are a five minute job to install.

The 'murrican WHAT?????
But seriously! Alternator belt or timing belt? Because one is just a nuisance, and the other is "Fuck I need a new engine or a new ride!" stuff.

It was a joke that stuck. Alternator belt is what went and probably time to replace the timing too, She has got like 146k miles on her.

Can't be nearly as bad as my car.
Ate two engines this year.
One after just 3 weeks.
I've replaced nearly everything...
I know where I can find parts for that Dodge, Cobalt SS is a different story.

You gotta keep it on the road, if only so you can keep saying that you drive a Dodge Stratus.

Does that one have the 2.7 6 cyl? If so, you would be best served pushing it off of a cliff and burning it no matter how much or how little it costs.

oh noes! what will the world do with one less dodge stratus*?
*yes i know a 2 door stratus is called an avenger. Also, i'm just fucking with you, you have every right to love your car no matter what it is. The love between a man and his vehicle is not always rational...but it is always beautiful. Or something.

i was so close to posting this, until i saw that it had 2 doors.

I think you may want to look a little further before changing the belt... why did it snap? Out of old wear, or is your AC or alternator seizing? Just a thought.

No need for an asterisk, that's not an Avenger, it's an early-00s Stratus coupe. You could've posted that SNL clip.
The old '90s 2-door Avenger...
...was on a different platform, as is the current Avenger sedan:
